To make this Recipe You’Il Need:

Ingredients:
2 1/2 c blackberries, washed
1 c sugar
1 c flour
2 t baking powder
1/2 t salt
1 c milk
1/2 c unsalted butter, melted

PREPARATION:
STEP 1
In a large bowl, stir together berries and sugar and let it sit out for 25 to 30 minutes.

When the blackberry mixture has been sitting for about 20 minutes, preheat the oven to 375ºF.

In a bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, salt, and milk with a wooden spoon. Stir in the melted butter and hand-mix until the ingredients are well incorporated and you have few clumps.

Pour batter into a small baking dish and smooth out. Pour the blackberry mixture on top and evenly distribute over the batter without stirring into the batter.

Bake at 375°F for 45 minutes to 1 hour, or until golden on top. Remove from oven and let set for about 15 minutes. Serve warm or room temperature with warmed cream or fresh whipped cream.

This post is brought to you in collaboration with Walmart, all opinions are my own.

The holiday season is a busy time, and I am all for making life easier and finding ways to save time and frustration. That's where Walmart's online grocery pickup service comes into play. I am so so excited that this service has finally made its way to my city, so I decided to give it a go and see how it worked out. I mean, a service where you do your shopping online, and they bring your groceries right to your car without you even having to set foot in the store? How could that not be awesome, especially with the stores packed for the holidays!

So, I got my #GroceryHero game on the other day, logged into the Walmart online grocery pickup site, and started adding the items from my list to my cart. I wanted to make a bunch of holiday treats with the boys, so I had all types of baking supplies on my list, as well as some holiday themed bags for packaging the treats as gifts for others and even a set of new baking sheets because ours are looking pretty rough. You know what? They had absolutely everything on my list available from a variety of different brands, and at the same every day low prices that Walmart always offers.

I was surprised to see the variety of products that can be purchased from the service online. Everything from fresh produce, meat and even holiday decor was available at my fingertips for delivery right to my car. Once my order was complete, I selected a time the next evening from the list of available selections, and that was it.

The next day, I downloaded the Walmart Grocery Check-In App for my Android phone (there is also a Walmart Grocery app available for iOS users.) With the app, I just checked in when I was on my way to the store for my designated time, and it let them know how far away I was and when I arrived so that they could have my order ready.

Nathaniel was the employee who delivered the groceries to our car, and he was absolutely wonderful. He explained the process, thanked me for being a first time user, and even gave me a great goody bag full of products since I was a newbie. After the groceries were loaded, we were free to go, and were in and out of the parking lot with all the supplies we needed for Christmas cookies in under 5 minutes! That is what I call being a #GroceryHero!

Cherry Pie Cookies

Ingredients:

1 c. softened butter
2 c. flour
3/4 c. powdered sugar
1 tsp vanilla
1 can cherry pie filling
1/8 c. water (if needed)

Instructions:

1. In a bowl with an electric mixer, mix 1 cup butter until fluffy and creamed well.

2. Slowly mix in flour and powdered sugar a little at a time until blended well.
3. Add vanilla and mix until just blended. If the dough is too dry, add up to 1/8 cup water a little at a time until it is a more doughy texture.

4. Roll dough into balls and place onto a greased baking sheet. Press down in the center to form a well in the center of each cookie to add the cherry pie filling to.

5. Add cherry pie filling to the middle of each cookie and bake at 325 degrees for 15-20 minutes until browned.
