I am a busy person. I work as a full-time blogger, work as a fashion consultant for LuLaRoe and homeschool all four of my boys. I also love the holiday season and making it special for friends and family members. So, what's a girl to do when she wants to help celebrate the holidays, but can't find the time to party plan? You find ways to make it work and cut down on the time and workload involved in planning a Thanksgiving party, that's what. Here are some of my favorite tips that I used to help plan a Thanksgiving party without driving myself mad.

1. Let Someone Else Cook

Let's face it, homemade is better than anything, but homemade takes a long time. One of the most time consuming parts of party planning is making the food, so when you want to save time, let someone else do the cooking. For our Thanksgiving party, I ordered a whole Thanksgiving spread from online, and then just made arrangements to pick it up the night of the party.

2. Use Disposable Plates and Utensils

Clean-up is another huge investment of time when it comes to planning a holiday party. Luckily, there are some really amazing disposable options when it comes to plates and silverware now. I purchased some white plastic plates with silver embellishments and some disposable utensils that look like regular flatware. I also picked up some disposable plastic bowls and platters. When the party was over, cleanup was as easy as throwing these items in the trash or rinsing and recycling.

3. Use What You Already Have

Shopping for decor or making it yourself can take time as well. Instead, decorate for your Thanksgiving party using decorations and items you already have around the house. It can be seasonal decor you already have out, or just items that are in traditional Fall colors.

4. Keep it Small

Your Thanksgiving party doesn't have to be huge to be fun. Think about keeping things small with just a small group of friends or family. You will have a great time, but the clean up and investment of time won't be nearly as large.

5. Enlist Some Help to Make Treats Ahead of Time

Children are a great source of free labor when it comes to party planning. I enlisted my boys to make some Nabisco Pecan-Apple Ritzwich treats that I found on the NABISCO Party Planner website. They have a wide range of quick and easy recipes that can be made in a flash for your holiday parties. I loved this one, because it was easy enough for the boys to help with, tasty and it could be made ahead and stored for later, making sure I didn't have to rush it the night of the party. Plus, when you purchase your Nabisco products at Publix, you can save, with money saving coupons available at the NABISCO Party Planner website.
