Netgear has long been our brand of choice when it comes to the wireless routers in our home, but I never knew they offered security equipment until I was offered the opportunity to try out the Arlo Smart Home Security Cameras. Being a lover of new tech and in need of some security equipment, I of course said yes. 

Best Buy is the only place where you can score the exclusive 4 pack of Arlo Smart Home Security Cameras by Netgear. The cameras are sold individually at other retailers, but only Best Buy has the four pack at the incredible value of $499!

What are the Arlo Smart Home Security Cameras? Simply put, they are 4 motion-activated cameras that enable you to capture 720p video footage both during the day and at night with a 130 degree field of view. They are completely wire free and weatherproof, able to remain indoors or outdoors in temperatures that range from 14 degrees to 122. They come with 6 magnetic camera mounts, allowing you to place your cameras virtually anywhere in or out of your home. 

They also work seamlessly with other Netgear products like the Netgear Nighthawk DST Router and DST Adapter that come with Geek Squad included. We used this wireless router that can accommodate up to 10+ connected devices to hook up our Arlo Smart Home Security Camera system. The Netgear Nighthawk DST Router comes with one DST or "Dead Spot Terminator" that can help boost signal where it is weakest in your home. and since it comes with included Geek Squad service, help with installation is only a quick call away. 

Once the cameras are hooked up to your wireless router and installed using the included magnetic camera mounts, all you have to do is create an Arlo Smart Home account and download the app if you wish. 




Then, seeing what is happening at your home is as easy as logging in online or via the app. The night vision qualities of the Arlo Smart Home Security Cameras is pretty amazing, and it switches seamlessly between night vision and regular display according to the amount of light it processes. Each time the system picks up motion in one of the zones the camera is placed in, it takes a series of short videos to show what is happening. You can then choose to get text or email updates, as well as login to the app or website to view these videos, download or email them. 

 Installation was simple and the quality is amazing, but most of all I feel that myself, my family and my home are in much safer hands since the installation of the Arlo Smart Home Security Cameras and my wifi is running much more smoothly since the addition of the Best Buy exclusive Netgear Nighthawk DST Router.
