College is a time for exploration and getting out on your own for the very first time. My friend has a daughter who is starting her first year of college, and she is having a tough time adjusting. We decided to get together and build a back-to-school College Care Package for her, to hopefully brighten her day and provide her with some comfort.

Food can be a comfort to anyone who finds themselves in an uneasy situation. The student we were building our care package for is watching their weight, so we included some of their favorite taste treats from Weight Watchers so they can indulge without going overboard.

Providing gift cards to allow students to head out for a meal or treat themselves to something special is a great way to help add a little fun to their day when you are not around to treat them to an outing yourself.

Some encouraging words and news from home can make all the difference in the world to a student who is away from home and feeling a little homesick. Send along some upbeat notes and cards to brighten their day.

Study Supplies

You can't forget the reason the student is off to college in the first place. Include some consumable study supplies that they are likely to need within their first few months away at school.
