4 Pool Cleaning Steps

1. Testing and Balance

The first steps to maintaining our pool is to test and balance your pool's water. Testing pool water with an HTH Test Kit or Test Strips is the perfect way to find out whether your pool water is balance or not. If not, the HTH®Test Kit or Test Strips will tell you what your pool needs.

2. Sanitize


When you have four boys, sanitizing the pool becomes a priority. We use, the HTH® 3-in-1 Chlorinating Skimmer Sticks. They come in individually wrapped bags that you place into your pool skimmer. They help to eliminate chlorine loss from direct sunlight.

3. Shocks


It is recommended that you shock your pool weekly to protect your family and yourself from bacteria and other contaminants. Do your eyes hurt in the pool? Shocking it can help reduce eye irritation. It is recommended that you shock your pool at the same time on the same day each week.

4. Prevent Algae

Once you get algae in a pool it can become a real problem. Take it from someone who had to buy a new pool because of it. Taking care of your pool and preventing algae is definitely the way to go. All HTH® Algaecides are non-foaming formulas.
