Preparing to Take on Our Nation's Capital!
11:29 AMThis is a sponsored post written in collaboration with the J.M. Smucker Company, all opinions are my own.
By now, you know the boys and I have been quite a few places. I have not updated our US Travel page yet, but in about 10 days, we will have been to all of the lower 48 states together. However, before we reach the end of this trip, we have a stop on our list that the boys have been itching to visit for years now, Washington DC, our nation's capital. Now, we are on our way to see all the sights, but I just like all the other stops on our #90DayRoadTrip, I have to make sure I come prepared for long days in the hot sun, sightseeing and walking.
How We Prepare for Road Trip Adventures
Happy kids means a happy mom, so even though my boys aren't babies anymore, I still carry a bag of ingredients for a fun-filled day that helps me anticipate the boy's needs. When we are on the road and have limited access to the comforts of home, and I know we won't be returning to the hotel for a break during the day, I come prepared for everything I need to keep them happy.
Sunscreen for repeat applications is important, as well as spare napkins for Jase who is prone to spontaneous nose bleeds, water bottles and some of their favorite snacks are always on hand too. We have just eaten a meal and the boys will pass a food cart or restaurant and say they are hungry. To help save money, I make sure to pack their favorite snacks.
Walmart is my go to location for all our SNACKATION needs. They are almost always convenient to anywhere we are in the country, and they have a wide range of items that we need and love, like our favorite Smucker's brand snacks.
The Walmart in Tyson's Corner is a really unique location.
Smucker's has a lot of great products that are perfect for on-the-go snacks and meals that can easily be tossed in a bag or small cooler, and brought along for quick bites on the road. Some of our favorites are the Smucker's Uncrustables, which have been a staple on our road trip snack list for years, as well as the all new Chocolate Peanut Butter Jif Whips. This stuff smells like heaven, and is great to eat with just about anything. I picked up some pretzel sticks and fruit to dip in ours. It is shelf stable like peanut butter, so makes the perfect travel snack. I also picked up a box of Jif To Go Dippers, which are awesome individually packed servings of Jif peanut butter and pretzel dippers.
With the items in our basket, we were ready to check out and set for our day in DC. Check back later to see a post about how our day in the nation's capital went, and whether the boys stayed happy and satisfied with our SNACKATION choices or not. Heading out on your own Summer adventure? Be sure to stop by Walmart for all your SNACKATION needs!
