Hotel Breakers at Cedar Point #90DayRoadTrip #Travel
12:29 AMIf you read my post yesterday, you got a taste of some of the old fashioned fun that we had during our visit to the Sandusky area. On the night of our arrival, we had the opportunity to stay at the historic Hotel Breakers, which recently underwent a multi-million dollar renovation. I can tell you, the renovations were worth every penny. From little touches like the flooring in the bathroom made to look like the worn and weathered wood of a beach boardwalk, to the throwback decor to
the bygone days of Cedar Point sprinkled throughout the hotel like the antique carousel horses in the lobby, Hotel Breakers is the perfect place for families who want the full "Cedar Point" experience.
The Rooms
All of the rooms at Hotel Breakers have been included in the complete renovation of the hotel. Each room now features LCD TV's, a dorm-sized fridge, microwaves and new bedding and decor. I loved the headboards in our room. They were huge photos of different rides in the park. The red chairs were another hit with my boys, since they came with a note that they were made out of recycled plastic bottles.
The newly renovated decor of the rooms really gives them a beachy vibe, and it was a perfect setting for the view outside of our window. Speaking of the view, every room at Hotel Breakers comes with a view. You are either looking out over the beautiful Lake Erie, or you're checking out the rides at Cedar Point. Our room came with a view that did a little bit of both.
The microwave and mini fridge came in handy for heating up a quick meal and keeping our food and drinks cold until we could put them in the cooler the next day. Not to mention, the room was perfect for our family of five. There were two queen-sized beds in the bedroom, and a pull-out couch in the living room. Two TV's also meant less fighting with the boys over who watches what.
Hotel Amenities
Hotel Breakers' biggest amenity is by far its location. If you are visiting Cedar Point, there is no place better to stay. Hotel Breakers also features a wide range of other amenities that make it the perfect choice for visiting families. First, there are five on-site dining options for families at the resort, with everything from a quick bite at Perkins or a fabulous dining experience at TOMO Hibachi Grill. There is a TGI Friday's, Poolside Ice Cream Parlor, a Surf Lounge Bar and a Starbucks for your morning pick me up too.
There is plenty of fun to be had in the water at Hotel Breakers too. The resort is nestled right alongside Lake Erie with great beach access. You can enjoy a stroll or a swim in the Lake right from the hotel. The multi-million dollar renovation at Hotel Breakers also included the pool area as well, so you can look forward to a brand new water play area with zero-depth entry for little ones, a hot tub for adults and brand new deck chairs with umbrellas. It is a perfect, colorful beach scene that really puts you into that "vacation" mindset.
The hotel's amenities round out with a fitness center, conference space and a concierge level complete with a lounge. Sprinkled throughout the resort is ample seating areas that have brand new beach-themed decor that make perfect socializing areas for friends and family.
