Wisconsin Dells is an incredible place with plenty of family fun to be had. They also have all types of accommodations options from luxury resorts to quiet inns. However, when you want some old fashioned family bonding, there is no better activity than camping. Sitting around the campfire, snuggling up in your sleeping bags and playing a round of cards at the picnic table, we love camping, and in Wisconsin Dells, the KOA campground is the perfect place to stay on your vacation to The Dells.

During our recent visit as part of the #90DayRoadTrip, we were lucky enough to stay in a one bedroom cabin. At the Wisconsin Dells KOA there are a wide range of options from campsites without electricity to campsites with full hook-ups, and many different types of cabins both with kitchens or bathrooms and without.

Our one bedroom cabin was basic, but had all the necessities we need. The beds come without linens, so be sure to bring your own. The one bedroom cabin without a bathroom comes with two bunks, one with two twin sized mattresses and the other with one full and one twin, it was plenty of room for the five of us. The windows do open, and there was a heater and air conditioner available for our comfort. The covered porch outside was a great place to rest in the shade, and you do get a picnic table and fire pit just like the regular campsites.




Worried about the bathrooms at a campground? Don't be. There are individual bathrooms here just with a toilet and sink like you would find in a hotel, and individual showers as well, so you have your privacy and everything is kept clean.


The KOA at Wisconsin Dells is maintained incredibly well by the staff. There is a fully stocked camp store with all of the essentials including items to make s'mores, firewood and ice. There is also a game room available throughout the day with a change machine where you can get quarters to do laundry in the laundry room.




The pool is a great bonus here too, since many campgrounds do not have them, and a great way to relax in the afternoon or evening after a day out around the town. Looking for some more fun? There is a playground, basketball court, and even a mining station where children can mine dirt that they purchase from the camp store for gemstones. Bike rentals are even available at reasonable prices for riding along the campground paths.
