Chocolate Cherry Almond Waffles Recipe Made with #DOVEfruit
11:01 PMChocolate and I have a love affair that goes way back. From that first bite, it was love at first taste, and I haven't looked back since. Now, when it comes to chocolate, my personal preference leans towards the dark side. Dark chocolate that is. I just love its comforting slightly bitter, sweet taste. I was recently given the chance to try the new DOVE Whole Fruit Dipped in Dark Chocolate, and oh my wow, is it awesome! DOVE managed to take something that was a little naughty and sneak in something a little nice, to produce the perfect sweet treat that you don't have to feel guilty about. Just in time for those New Year's resolutions too!
New DOVE Whole Fruit Dipped in Dark Chocolate
DOVE is the #1 solid dark chocolate on the market, and the proof is in the taste. Their silky smooth chocolate is just incredible and hard to beat. Now, they have added the deliciousness of whole fruit to the mix, to create new DOVE Fruit. Available in three delicious flavors, cranberry, blueberry and cherry, new DOVE Fruit is real whole fruit dipped in their delicious dark chocolate.
Now, the DOVE Fruit Cherries are my favorite, but the cranberries are extremely tasty too. I am not a blueberry lover myself, but the boys had no trouble gobbling down the whole bag for me. If you love the taste of DOVE dark chocolate, then you are going to love these treats. The best part? A 1/4 cup serving of the DOVE Fruit Cherries is only 200 calories! They are great right out of the bag, but I also love to incorporate them into recipes and other snacks too. Check out this recipe for chocolate cherry almond waffles that I made using the DOVE Fruit.
Chocolate Cherry Almond Waffles
Ingredients:
2 cups flour
2 eggs
1/3 cup vegetable oil
1 3/4 cup milk
1 tbsp. sugar or sugar substitute
4 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp almond extract
DOVE Fruit Cherries chopped and some reserved whole for topping
Instructions
Step 1: Beat eggs in a bowl well until they are frothy.
Step 2: Slowly add in milk and flour until mixed well.
Step 3: Incorporate the oil, sugar, salt, baking powder and almond extract until just mixed well.
Step 4: Pour the mixture into a pre-heated waffle iron and sprinkle in a handful of the chopped DOVE Fruit Cherries.
Step 5: Cook until brown and crispy and remove from waffle iron. Top with some whipped cream and a few more pieces of DOVE Fruit Cherries for garnish.
Honestly, I love the DOVE Whole Fruit Dipped in Dark Chocolate so much. I am glad I was asked to try them, but I am sure I would have found my way to them on my own given time. Keep your eye out for them in the stores, I know I spotted a display at Publix the other day with a coupon attached! Be sure to follow DOVE on Twitter and Facebook for the latest promotions, and check out their website DoveChocolate.com for more information.

This looks delicious, especially with the Dove fruit. I normally don't like fruit on waffles, but the Dove brand changes my mind.
