Football season has almost come to an end, but before it closes its doors, the biggest game of the year has to take place. In a few short days, Denver will go head to head with Seattle! People across the country will be celebrating with parties and tailgating events, myself included. One of my party food go-to's is cheese. It is so versatile and can be used in a variety of appetizers and finger foods. I recently had the chance to create a football party themed recipe with Crystal Farms cheese, and am now a huge fan of their products.

About Crystal Farms

Established in 1926, Crystal Farms has been providing high quality cheeses to consumers for more than 80 years! Crystal Farms is one of the largest cheese brands in the country and their products have consistent quality and a great taste you can count on.

Crystal Farms products are natural with few preservatives, are a rich source of calcium, gluten-free and lactose tolerant. You can find a wide range of Crystal Farms products in the refrigerated dairy section of your local grocery store. I buy mine at Winn Dixie, and they are always available at a great low price.

Cheese and Cracker Football Centerpiece

When I host a party of any kind, I like to try and find one unique food item that can serve as an edible centerpiece for the table. Since The Professional Football Championship Game in Houston is coming up, I thought it would be fun to have a football shaped food centerpiece, and what better way to showcase the Crystal Farms cheese that I bought? I love that Crystal Farms sells shredded, cubed, as well as pre-sliced cheese. I bought two of the marble jack packages of Crystal Farms cheese that was already pre-sliced and it saved me a ton of time.

Ingredients:

  • 1 Box Gold Emblem Baked Wheat Snack Crackers
  • Crystal Farms Marble Jack Pre-sliced Cheese
  • Pepperoni Slices
  • Any Crystal Farms White Cheese of Your Choosing

Instructions:

Step 1. On a large square or oval tray start creating the outline of a football shape with wheat snack crackers. Once the first row of the outline is done, create a second layer of crackers inside that one.

Step 2. Overlap the second row of crackers with slices of the Crystal Farms Marble Jack pre-sliced cheese and then fill in the rest of the space inside the football shape with additional cheese slices.

Step 3. In the center of the cheese slices in the middle of the football shape, create a smaller football shape out of pepperoni.

Step 4. Cut some long thin strands of any Crystal Farms white cheese of your choosing. Cut one long strip of cheese, and 3-4 smaller ones. Arrange the cheese in the middle of the pepperoni to form the stitches of the football.
