The Orlando area is full of wonders and delights, especially around the holidays. There are a ton of attractions and activities for families during the holiday season, but few help you celebrate and get in the Christmas spirit like those found at the Gaylord Palms Resort. A spectacularly themed resort anytime of the year, the Gaylord Palms really comes to life when the holidays roll around. Start with a breakfast with everyone's favorite ogre Shrek, take a walk through an icy Christmas classic brought to life, and even decorate your very own gingerbread hours with Gingy. Holiday activities at the Gaylord Palms is the perfect way to celebrate with your family!

Sit down to a delicious morning feast with the world's most lovable ogre Shrek, his sidekick Puss in Boots and the ever delightful Fiona. Enjoy all of the delicious offerings available the Villa de Flora like the make your own omellette station, and enjoy some special treats too, including ogre shaped waffles, swamp juice and a green chocolate fountain!

While you dine on the specialties of the kingdom, Shrek, Fiona and Puss in Boots (when available) will come around to your table to chat and take photos. The interaction is really great, even with boys who may be reluctant to pose with a princess.

ICE! Featuring the Nutcracker

The boys and I experienced ICE! at the Gaylord Palms last year and really enjoyed seeing Frosty the Snowman come to life. This year, we were really looking forward to seeing how they portrayed the holiday classic The Nutcracker in the various sculptures in ICE!. We were not disappointed, the colors were vibrant, and all of the most iconic scenes from this well-loved classic were brought to life before our eyes.

Of course, the boys spent some time at their favorite part of the display each year, the ice slides. Don't worry, adults are allowed on the slide too, so you can take part in the fun with your little ones.

Be sure to plan plenty of time to visit the Frostbite Factory at the end of the ICE! display. Here you can learn more about how ICE! is brought to life, and see creations made by the artisans from China who help to make ICE! possible. You can even see their work in action. ICE! is open daily from November 15 to January 4th. Tickets can be purchased for $28.99 for adults and $14.99 for children.
