Wintergreen Resort - Cozy Comfort in the Blue Ridge Mountains #70DayRoadTrip #Travel
12:30 PMWe were provided with accommodations for the purpose of review, but all opinions are our own.
Driving through the Blue Ridge Mountains is an experience in itself. At almost every turn, there are views of seemingly blue colored mountains in the distance and lush greenery all around. It is hard to get a few miles up the road when you are constantly pulling off to the side of the road to marvel at the amazing creation in front of you. Up the mountains we did go though, to Wintergreen Resort, a luxury 4-season vacation destination that provides all the comforts of home, with a backdrop of fantastic Blue Ridge Mountain views.
Cozy Comfort in the Blue Ridge Mountains
The other day, I shared with you some of the outdoor activities for families that are available at Wintergreen Resort. Today, I want to focus on sharing their mountaintop accommodations with you. Wintergreen Resort offers a wide range of different accommodations to meet the needs of almost any traveler. From Studio and Lodge Rooms in the Mountain Inn, to vacation condos and homes with 1-9 rooms, you can always find an accommodation type to fit your vacation. Vacation condos and homes are located within either the Mountain Inn shops and restaurants area, or the Devils Knob area, where the aquatic and fitness centers can be found.
On our recent visit, we had the pleasure of staying in a 3 bedroom vacation condo located in the Mountain Inn area. In fact, we were just up the road from the Adventure Center, which was perfect for us. Let me start by saying that I loved everything about our condo, but we were located on the third floor with no access to an elevator. While this was not a problem for us, if you have a medical condition that would keep you from carrying your luggage up stairs, be sure to ask for a 1st floor condo.
The interior of each vacation condo and home is decorated a bit differently from one unit to the next. However, they all have the comforts of home, including a fully stocked kitchen, living room with fireplace, and lovely balcony to enjoy the view of the Blue Ridge Mountains. We had little groundhogs scampering around in our backyard area almost constantly while we were there.
The decor in our vacation condo was an eclectic mix, but had an overall outdoors theme, just perfect for the environment that Wintergreen Resort is based in. The washer and dryer were greatly appreciated during our stay since we had been on a 70 day road trip, and the full kitchen saved us a bundle on meals, since they could easily be prepared there.
Another favorite feature was the fireplace in the living room. You are provided with wood and fire starter, so making a fire is a cinch. Also, the weather at night is cool here all year long because of the location, so we enjoyed a fire each night of our stay. The master bedroom was located in a loft area upstairs, and was a great retreat for me, since I had been alone with the boys 24/7 for 70 days, it was nice not to have to share a bed and to get away for a bit at night.
Average rates at Wintergreen Resort start at $155 for a condo and run up to $1325 for a 9 bedroom luxury vacation home. There are always specials and package deals being offered throughout the year though so that families can save some money. For more information on the full list of accommodations, or to book your own visit, go to WintergreenResort.com.

DeleteWhat a gorgeous condo. We usually chose to stay in condos now that the kids are older and want to have their own rooms, so we find them to be a better value than hotels
ReplyDeleteThey really are a great value. In some cases, our family would have to get two rooms, and condos are a great value compared to that.
DeleteWhat a gorgeous place. I bet you made some great memories!

ReplyDeleteI would love to go somewhere like that with my whole family! What a great way to spend a week! The scenery is so beautiful!
ReplyDeleteWow, a 3 bedroom vacation condo?! What a welcome break from the road trip! I can't believe all that was in the condo. Most places only offer sitting areas like that in a public spot for everyone to use. The kitchen must have been nice to play in too as a change from the stove in the camper.
ReplyDeleteThat condo looks really nice! Love the views of the mountains!
ReplyDeleteThat looks so peaceful. I would love to vacation there.
ReplyDeleteThe rooms look simple but cute and rustic. The living area and kitchen look fabulous. Too bad you had to drag your stuff up three floors. Your mountain view picture is fantastic. Makes me want to pack up and go right now!
