10 Fun Travel Games #FamilyTravel
11:54 PMIf you have hung around this blog for more than a few minutes, you probably have realized that I like road trips. A lot. The majority of my travel is done through road trips. There is something about driving country back roads, wide open highways and scenic byways around this big country of ours that makes me eager to pack of Bob the Van and hit the road. However, I'd be crazy not to have a way to keep the boys occupied. As fun as road trips can be, when kids are screaming that this one is looking at them or that one is touching them, no one is having fun. That is why fun travel games like the ones below are such a great idea. They get the whole family together having fun, instead of picking fights on the road.

I'd love to try the travel Blurt and Melissa & Doug License Plate Game. It's tough to find travel games to which you won't lose all the pieces in the car!
ReplyDeleteI kinda love that they now have the license plate game in a board game style. That's such a classic. My kids STILL like to play Guess Who and they're practically old people. lol
ReplyDeleteI always take Guess who and checkers and chess as our road trip games. You have some fun games listed for sure!
ReplyDeleteGreat ideas. Love the little license plate game!
ReplyDeleteI love Blurt, I didn't know it had a travel game…off to check out the Curious George cube now!
ReplyDeleteI want the license plate game! I remember playing it as a child, having it in a board game would be so neat!

ReplyDelete+I've never heard of these but they look like great travel boredom busters.
I think the only game we are familiar with is Hangman, obviously, but we haven't played that version, just the paper version, and then Blurt. I think our children would love them all.
ReplyDeleteI'm not very creative so we end up playing the alphabet game a lot. These look like way more fun, and might actually keep everyone entertained and not fighting.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the wonderful recommendations! I'll have to keep these in mind.
ReplyDeleteGreat suggestions! We have played Spot It! and a few of the wooden Melissa and Doug games. All were a big hit.
ReplyDeleteAll the kids I know love those Find It Tubes. Keeps them occupied for a long time (which is great and I suppose one of the reasons you'd bring them on a road trip ;) ).
