Netwars - The Butterfly Attack Episode 1 Graphic Novel App Review
6:00 AMThis post is brought to you in collaboration with Bastei Entertainment.
Are you a tech nerd? Do love the inner workings of code and the web in general? If so, then do I have the app for you. I was recently approached and asked to review Netwars - The Butterfly Attack Episode 1 graphic novel app, and it is perfect for those who really love to get into their reading. With 3-D motion sensored graphics, and interactive display, this is one book you can really sink your imagination into.
The story revolves around a team of elite hackers, Sixth Column, that is headed by Max Parsons. Sixth Column is hired by the European government to hack across the border and hack into the power, water and traffic systems in Norway. What they believe to be just a simulation quickly turns into reality, as they are launched into a cyber war. Turns out, their group has been infiltrated by the terrorist movement known as Black Flag, and Max finds himself facing the person who caused the death of his parents, Nightshade.
This is not so much a game as it is an interactive graphic novel from Bastei Entertainment. You can follow along and interact with the story. My favorite part is the 3D parallax effect with motion sensor. It really brings the story to life. I was amazed the first time I saw it, it really does instantly make the graphics 3D and helps to bring the story to life.
Episode 1 of the "Butterfly Attack" is the first of three episodes that will be released as part of this graphic novel. It is available in iTunes, the Google Play Store and Amazon App Store for just $2.99. A great value when you consider the cost of most eBooks. It also provides hours of reading and interactive fun. The app recommends ages 12+ due to some mild language, violence and other adult situations. I personally would recommend ages 14 and up, but it really depends on what you are comfortable with your children experiencing, and everyone is different.
Netwars - The Butterfly Attack Episode 1 is a great interactive graphic novel app for older children and adults. If you are having trouble getting a teenager to read over the summer, this is a great option to get them interested in reading again. The plot is highly immerssive and has just the right mix of factual fiction to make it believable.

Wow, this sounds like a great story and one right up my alley. I read a lot of comics back in the day and I'm curious how this has been modernized.
ReplyDeleteThat looks like one interesting read. It reminds me of some of the comics my teen reads now.
ReplyDeleteThese apps are pretty cool, the graphics are very detailed!
