When we are on the road away from home for long trips like our 70 day road trip, it is a treat to be somewhere that feels more like home. This weekend, we are at Wintergreen Resort in Virginia, and the three bedroom condo we are staying in, feels an awful lot like home. I thought it would be fun to have a good old fashioned family movie night with the boys, and Big G Cereal Movies helped me pull it all together on the cheap. The boys and I had a great time laying in the living room together with a delicious snack, and watching one of my favorite animated movies, and I loved that it didn't have to cost a lot.

Buy Cereal and Get a Movie for Free!

This is so much cooler than those tattoos and rinky dink toys you used to find in cereal boxes. In fact, the Big C Cereal Movies are a great way to plan an affordable family movie night. Just buy two boxes of participating General Mills Big G Cereals, enter the codes found in the specially marked boxes at BigGCerealMovies.com, and choose from 10 classic Fox family movies like We Bought a Zoo, Mr. Popper's Penguins, Marmaduke and more!

That's it, just buy the cereals you love anyway, and get a movie for free! You can download them through Target Ticket, Vudu, or Google Play and they are ready to watch with the family instantly. We downloaded Anastasia. The boys had never seen it, and it is one of my favorite animated movies. In fact, "Once Upon a December" is probably my favorite song from any animated movie to date. With Google Play, it was easy to download and instantly start watching.

Peanut Butter Cocoa Puff Popcorn Snack

We love to invent new snacks for family fun nights all the time in our house. This time, I decided to try out a recipe with the boy's favorite Big G cereal, Cocoa Puffs.

I added some to a bowl of popcorn for a mix of sweet and salty. Then, I dumped in some mini Reese's Pieces bites, and topped it off with a drizzle of melted Hershey's semi sweet melted morsels. The result was a chocolately peanut butter snack that the boys gobbled up. Give it a try!
