Residence Inn Downtown- Comfortable Convenience in The Heart of Sacramento #70DayRoadTrip

Complimentary accommodations were received for the purpose of review, but all opinions are my own.

Close to many popular Sacramento museums and attractions, the Residence Inn Sacramento Downtown at Capital Park is a modern and incredibly well maintained option for those looking for accommodations in the downtown area. With ample amenities and friendly staff, it is easy to see why this hotel stays booked so often.

The Room

On our recent visit to Sacramento, we were invited to stay at the Residence Inn Downtown. Although this is a chain hotel, it almost gives off the feel of a boutique hotel with its friendly service and incredible amenities. We stayed in a two bedroom suite that had ample room, and a full kitchen area, which really helped to cut food costs down for our family. With four children, it is always nice to have a variety of sleeping options, so there is no fighting about who sleeps where. I like the idea of a suite far more than connecting rooms too.

Our suite featured one bedroom with a king bed and separate bathroom, a second bedroom with a King bed and separate bathroom, a large living room area with a full pull out couch, sitting area and desk, as well as a small dining nook and full kitchen.

Amenities

Aside from the comfort that the guest rooms offer, the Residence Inn in downtown Sacramento has a wide variety of amenities to make you feel at home. Free wifi is at the top of the list, and it had a great signal during our entire stay. The outdoor pool has ample comfortable seating for parents, and the children love it too. The pool is shaded most of the day, so even in the 113 degree temperatures we experienced during our visit, the boys could swim comfortably without the worry of being burnt.

A fitness room is right next to the pool area, as is a guest laundry room, which we definitely took advantage of. When you are on the road for 70 days with only a weeks worth of clothes, you are always looking for somewhere to wash clothes that is convenient.

Perhaps our favorite amenity though, was the free complimentary breakfast served each morning. It featured hot items like eggs, sausage and potatoes, as well as a wide range of cereals, breads, yogurt and even waffles. It was a great money saver for us too.

Location and Price

Although not a budget hotel, the Residence Inn in downtown Sacramento provides an exceptional service to its guests, and is comparably priced to other hotels in the downtown area. When you consider the money you can save with free breakfast and a full kitchen in you room, the value becomes even greater. The hotel is located only a few miles from Old Sacramento, the California State Railroad Museum, and other family friendly attractions. If you are looking for a comfortable hotel with a great location and fair pricing, then the Residence Inn Sacramento Downtown at Capital Park is a great option. 3. That looks like a really nice place to stay. We always look for hotels that have free wi-fi and breakfast, and find a lot of the upper scale hotels don't offer those, so that's a nice perk to this one.
