Tips for Staying Fresh and Cool When Camping #BanTotalRefresh
There are no two ways about it, camping is a sticky and often dirty activity, but it is oh so worth it. While I absolutely love camping though, I do not like being dirty and muddy for an extended period of time, in fact I can remember a time when I literally sobbed in front of the showers at Grand Canyon National Park because they were closed. So, making sure that I have ways to stay fresh and cool on the go are a must for me. The outdoors are so much more fun when you don't have to be sticky and sweaty all day. Check out these tips for staying fresh and cool while camping.
Stay Hydrated
Trust me, I am not a huge fan of water, but when you are camping and hiking outdoors, staying hydrated is a must. Invest in a good quality hydration pack, and make sure you are carrying plenty of water and salty snacks.
Wrap it Up
One of the best ways I have found to stay cool, especially in the brutal summer sun is with Frogg Toggs Chilly Pad. These are great for filling with cold water or even wrapping ice up in them and then tying them around your neck. They stay cool for hours and really help to keep you refreshed.
Have an On the Go Clean Kit
I make these for each of my boys when we go camping, and they really help keep everything easily accessible for quick clean ups. In the kit, I keep toothpaste, a bath sponge, deodorant and travel sized toothpaste and shower gel. When you only have a sport amount of time to clean up, this kit is all you need.
Get Fresh in an Instant
One of my favorite new products in the last few days has been Ban Total Refresh Cooling Body Cloths. I received them for review, and in the few days that we have been on our 70 day camping trip so far, they have become an invaluable resource for staying fresh and cool. After a hike, all I have to do is wipe my face and neck with a cooling cloth, and instantly feel clean and noticeably cooler.
The unique Powdersilk technology in Ban Total Refresh Cooling Body Cloths is imported from Japan, and leaves your skin coated with a thin layer of powder to keep you feeling cool and clean. Plus, they smell really good, and come in three great scents, Enliven, Invigorate and Restore. You can purchase them at in the deodorant aisle in retailers near you, but beware, they have been super popular since their debut, and are often out of stock, leading to people selling them on eBay. They are definitely a must on my camping packing list now!
Camping doesn't have to be as dirty and sweaty as some make it out to be. With a few tips and some great products, you can stay cool and clean even when having fun outdoors.
