How to Have a Great Summer Cookout

This post brought to you by Dollar General. All opinions are 100% mine.

Summer is right around the corner, and boy are we ready for it. The boys and I head off for our 70 day summer road trip in less that 30 days. With our summer camping trips come plenty of grilling out. I have found over our many many cookouts that there are a few things you can do to make sure you have a great time with family and friends.

Choose a Crowd Pleasing Menu

The best way to make sure everyone has a great time at a cookout is to make sure your menu is packed with crowd pleasing favorites. Hamburgers, hot dogs and fruit and veggie trays are popular favorites to have on the list.

Plan Fun Family Friendly Games

Most cookouts are family affairs. Making sure that you have fun activities available for all ages will make sure the kids don't get bored and everyone has a great time. Bocce ball is a new favorite among all ages, as is cornhole.

Stock Up On Supplies

Nothing is worst than having guests over for a cookout and running out of necessities. One thing to make sure you stock up on is propane gas. AmeriGas® offers great deals on propane tank purchases and exchanges at local Dollar General stores. In fact, right now they have a special for $3 OFF an AmeriGas® propane tank purchase or exchange at Dollar General stores, because you can't call it grilling without AmeriGas®.

With the tips above, your summer cookout is sure to be full of happy guests. Do you have summer cookout tips or recipes to share? Feel free to leave them in the comment section below!

  11. Great tips! I would love to incorporate more games in our summer family get togethers since we seem to live in the pool around that time.

  13. I can't believe it either Paula! Seems like the time just flew by all of a sudden. I am starting to get nervous, which happened last year, but this year at least I know everything will work out fine. :)

  14. I never knew that Dollar General had propane tanks to swap! That's great news because we have one just down the street, and we will inevitably run out of propane in the middle of a grilling party I'm sure, LOL!
