Mardi Gras Candy Coated Popcorn
10:04 AMThis weekend we are at Family Gras in Jefferson Parish Louisiana. Before we left home to head out here yesterday, I made a special Madi Gras themed treat for the boys. This Mardi Gras candy coated popcorn is incredibly easy to make and is a great snack with a mix of sweet and salty.
Ingredients:
1 Bag Wilton Green Candy Melts
1 Bag Wilton Yellow Candy Melts
1 Bag Wilton Purple Candy Melts
3 Bags of Popcorn
Parchment Paper
Instructions:
Step 1: Pop all three bags of popcorn, remove the un-popped kernels and place them in three separate large bowls.
Step 2: Place the green candy melts in a bowl and heat in the microwave for 1 minute. Stir and then continue heating them 30 seconds at a time until they are melted and smooth.
Step 3: Pour the green candy melts over one of the bowls of popcorn and mix well until the popcorn is coated.
Step 4: Spread the green candy coated popcorn in a single layer on a sheet of parchment paper to dry.
Step 5: Repeat steps 2-4 with the purple and yellow candy melts too.
Step 6: Once all of the candy coated popcorn is dry, break into pieces and mix together before serving.
