Butterball Cookbook Plus - Your One Stop Meal Prep Shop

This post is brought to you in collaboration with the Butterball Cookbook Plus app, all opinions are my own.

As moms, we all know that a lot of work goes into weekly meal planning, shopping and preparing. To much work if we're being honest. What if I told you there was an app that could make it easier? Well, there is. The Butterball Cookbook Plus app is a one stop shop that can cut your monthly meal planning and prep times easily in half! That's right, Butterball, the king of all things turkey has created an app that will help you plan, purchase and prepare your weekly meals in a fraction of the time!

{The Butterball Cookbook Plus App}

Available in the iTunes store for free for a limited time, the Butterball Cookbook Plus app has over 250 recipes to help you create delicious meals the whole family will enjoy. Turkey doesn't have to be a whole stuffed bird on the dining room table, there is ground turkey, shredded turkey, turkey bacon and so much more! When you consider that, the possibilities that are available with this app seem endless.

How does it work? When you first download the app, you will see a screen that gives you multiple options for searching out the perfect recipes on the left side of the screen. You can search by product, theme, cooking method and more. Or, if you're feeling lucky, you can tap the "stir" button to have a random list of recommended recipes shown.

On this particular day, I chose to search for "kid friendly" recipes. Say what? Easy Cheesy Bacon Bread? Bacon and carbs, I am so there! That was one recipe I couldn't wait to try out. Tap a recipe and you are taken to the individual recipe page.

On a recipe page within the Butterball Cookbook Plus app, you can see the recipe rating, a list of ingredients and a place where you can jot down and save notes to customize the recipe to your own preference (iPad only). You can also choose to raise or lower the number of servings, which will instantly change the amount of the ingredients needed. How cool is that? Very handy when most recipes are made for four and our house has 6.

While on the recipe page, you can also click the index card logo at the top of the screen to add that recipe to "My Recipe Box," where you can save your favorite recipes from in the app or even add your own from outside the app. Tapping the place setting button will add that recipe to your meal builder area. I use this to store all the recipes I want to make for that week for quick access.

See the shopping cart icon at the top of the screen? That's my absolute favorite feature of the app. You can press that and it instantly adds the ingredients for each recipe to your shopping list. Once you choose the meals you want, all you have to do is go into your shopping list and click to delete any items you already have at home. Once edited, the list can be printed and you're ready to go. Meals planned and shopping list made.

Alright, so you planned your meals for the week and did the shopping with your handy dandy list. Now what? Press on the recipe you want to make and tap "prepare" from the recipe's page. Doing this will take you to step-by-step instructions for the preparation of the dish. Did you know the Butterball Cookbook Plus app has voice commands for hands free meal prep too? Yep, you can just say a standard list of commands and your dirty hands don't have to touch your phone or tablet.

Other great features of the app include easy lists of conversions and substitutions as well as video instruction on certain preparation methods. This app really does it all.

Want to make meal planning, shopping and prep a breeze in your home? Don't forget to download the Butterball Cookbook Plus app while it's free! You can touch base with the Butterball on Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest too for more ideas, tips and the latest news.
