A while back, I won a box at auction that had nearly 100 shot glasses in it. I rarely drink, so I tried to think of something that I could repurpose them into. Since the holidays are coming up, I thought I would try my had at a little DIY magic to upcycle some shot glasses into shabby chic holiday decor. What do you think?

Materials:

4 shot glasses
Roll of Jute
Small scarp of burlap
White felt
Glue Gun
Scissors

Step 1:

Cut out four small squares of burlap. You can measure depending on the size of your shot glass or your personal preference, mine are about 2 inches tall.

Step 2: 



Cut out the letters to spell "noel" from a piece of white felt. You can trace an outline freehand with a pencil first or use a stencil if you prefer. Since we are going for a shabby chic look, I just freehanded it. Hot glue the felt letters to the four squares of burlap and set aside.

Step 3:



Place a thin line of hot glue along the bottom edge of the shot glass and place the jute along it in a straight line. Continue wrapping the jute around the shot glass until you get to the top, use another thin line of hot glue to attach the jute a the top and cleanly cut off the end.  Repeat this with all four shot glasses. Note: You can hot glue all the way around if you want, but there is really no reason to.

Step 4: 


Glue the burlap squares with the felt letters on them to the shot glasses, one square on each shot glass. Adorn your new shabby chic bud vases with seasonal berries or other holiday decorations and enjoy!
