Perfect Roast Chicken with The Wolfgang Puck Pressure Oven
3:24 PMThis post is brought to you in cooperation with the Wolfgang Puck Pressure Oven, but all words and opinions are my own.
By now, you are all very familiar with my love/hate relationship with cooking. I hate to do it, but love to eat good food. So, I am always on the lookout for innovative new products that can help to make the whole cooking process a little bit easier, tastier and faster. When I was approached to review the Wolfgang Puck Pressure Oven, I thought it might just be able to fit that bill, and boy was I right. This little power house of cooking magic makes meals taste better, and does it in a fraction of the time of a regular oven!
{What is This Thing?}
"Wolfgang is committed to helping everyone experience fine dining and delicious tasting food. He approached the team at KitchenTek with the challenge of creating an electric oven that could cook foods faster; helping busy, active people to still enjoy the culinary lifestyle. The result is the countertop Pressure Oven."Basically, the Wolfgang Puck Pressure Oven takes the cooking power of a pressure cooker and places it in an appliance about the size of a standard microwave, that can do the work of multiple kitchen appliances in a shorter about of time. It can:
- Bake
- Roast
- Broil
- Warm
- Toast
- Rotisserie
- Reheat
Check out this video for a better look at how it works!
The first time I used the Wolfgang Puck Pressure Oven I decided to roast a chicken. Let me say that I had never roasted one before, in fact, I had never cooked a whole chicken before because it seemed like such a hassle. With this baby though, it was so simple! In just 25 minutes, I had a perfectly roasted 2 1/2 pound chicken that was literally dripping with moisture. Normally when I make chicken, the seasoning does not get past the skin, but every bite of this chicken was seasoned from the pressure oven.
Chicken isn't the only thing that cooks faster though, all meat does. A 10-11 lb. ham that would normally take 4 hours in an oven takes only 1 hour and 30 minutes in the Wolfgang Puck Pressure Oven! I love that you can use it as a microwave or toaster too, it takes the place of so many appliances without taking up a lot of space.

The only thing I don't love about this appliance is that the outside of it gets very hot when in use. I forgot when I was closing the door after taking out the chicken and almost burnt my hand, but they definitely warn you about it, and I think it is just something you have to get used to.
Overall, I love this little machine. It definitely makes my time in the kitchen go faster, and the food tastes so much better! The Wolfgang Puck Pressure Oven is available for $299.95, not bad considering it can save you a bundle on electricity versus running your big oven longer, and can replace appliances like microwaves and toasters.
Have you ever tried cooking in a pressure oven?

ReplyDeleteSounds like this will be the perfect cooking tool with the holiday season coming up. I know some members of my family get anxious when they have to wait too long for the food to cook. I may have to invest in one of these!
ReplyDeleteThis would be great for the holidays. Especially since I bake a ham and roast a turkey. I could use the Wolfgang Puck oven for the turkey and free up my oven. Your chicken looks yummy, btw!
ReplyDeleteI can't believe you pulled that off in 25 minutes with this oven. That is really a convenience and especially since it retains moisture.
ReplyDeleteNice demonstration.
ReplyDeleteI've never used one...what a quick way to cook, though! I'd make whole chickens more often with that!
ReplyDeleteI love cooking squash and pumpkins in my oven. They cook so fast...love the time it saves me. I agree about the outside getting hot. They are not kidding about that. It needs to stay far out of reach of little hands.
ReplyDeleteWow that looks like a MUST Have item!! That chicken looked like it turned out wonderffully too!!
ReplyDeleteI've never even heard of a pressure oven. Seems like a neat little contraption to have, though! The chicken looks so yummy!
ReplyDeleteWow, that cooks up a great looking chicken!
ReplyDeleteI have this oven and agree it is awesome! I made a 13lb Turkey for Thanksgiving in 55 minutes and it was golden brown and juicy! I have made a number of things since then and everything has cooked quicker and tasted better than in a traditional oven.
