Hexbug Nano V2 Party - Psst. #TheyCanClimb
12:54 PMLast weekend we had some friends of the boys over for a party to help test out and play with the new Hexbug Nano V2 bugs and play sets. They all had a blast, and I have to admit, these little creepy crawly toys are better than ever! We have been lovers of Hexbugs ever since I brought some home from BlogHer more than two years ago. Now they are different though, now they climb! Check out our bug themed party!
{The Bug Themed Party Food}
Bug infested pizza
Bowls of bug themed sweets.
Ants on a log.
Bugs on a stick.
Green bug juice with frozen bug ice cubes.
{The Setup}
All the Hexbugs lined up in a row waiting for the boys to come.
Bug spray aka. silly string.
Hexbug Nano V2 Sky Max, Barrel Roll and Black Hole play sets.
As soon as the boys showed up, they dived right into playing with the new Hexbugs. Everyone had heard about the new Nano V2's on TV, but they had never actually seen them in person. There were a lot of "cool" and "awesome" words being thrown around. Who can blame them though? My boys loved the flat sets and regular Hexbugs, but add the ability to climb even upside down, and Hexbugs are taken to a whole new level of play. For over an hour they played with the sets and then took them apart to create their own unique builds. They even made an endless loop where the Hexbug Nano V2 bugs would go around in a circle with no way to escape.
We took a little time out to go outdoors and shoot off our "bug spray." Little did I know that when you place silly string in the hands of 8 boys they become a little uncontrollable and eventually turn on you. I was squirted with my fair share of "bug spray" that day.
After heading back inside, the boys took apart the sets and started to create their own big build. Check out the video from when they started to get creative! You can check out other Hexbug Nano V2 videos on their Youtube page.
The finished Mega Build with endless loop.
The boys had a blast with the Hexbug Nano V2 bugs and play sets, and everyone was thrilled to get to take some home. These little guys are really awesome. I still don't fully understand how they are able to climb, the designers over there in the Hexbug lab must have some magic dust. All I know is these things are cool and are sure to be at the top of many kids' Christmas lists this year!
You can check out more on the Hexbug Twitter, Facebook and Instagram pages.
Have you tried the new Hexbug Nano V2's and watched them climb?
