You Only Have 120 Seconds to Escape a Fire in Your Home!

The other week I shared some reviews of Fire Prevention Products from The Home Depot, as well as some tips on how to make sure your family is ready in case of a fire. October is Fire Prevention Month, and I have teamed up with The Home Depot to help bring awareness of not only how to prevent fires, but what to do in the event that one should occur in your home. This week, I want to take a minute to introduce you all to two other incredible fire prevention products that every family should have in their home.
Kidde Fire Extinguishers
We have a Kidde Fire Extinguisher in our home, but thank goodness, we have not had to use it as of yet. With four boys running around though, you never know what might happen. I like the peace of mind it gives me just knowing it is there if we need it. The Kidde Fire Extinguishers can be used on all types of fires including; paper, wood, trash, liquid, electrical equipment and gas fires. They have a 8-12 second discharge time and a discharge range of 6-8 feet, to keep you at a safe distance and quickly put out the flames. How do you know it will work when you need it? Kidde Fire Extinguishers come with easy to read pressure gauges that you can read to know it is in working order.
Life+Gear Fire Safety Night Lights
Did you know that once a fire starts, you and your family may have as little as two minutes to get to safety? That is 120 seconds, and that isn't very long! The Life+Gear Safety Night Light activates in the dark and works as a normal night light, but when your smoke alarm goes off, it gets brighter and lights the way to safety. This is an ingenious product that really does provide an invaluable service to your family. We plan to have one in each room of our home.
Fire Safety Kit Must-Haves
Most people, (myself included until recently) have no idea what products they should really have in a fire safety kit, or what they should do in order to prepare their family for a house fire. Check out this incredibly helpful infographic for a full rundown.
With only 120 seconds to get your family to safety in the event of a fire, every second counts. Make sure your family is prepared by visiting your local The Home Depot store and picking up some of the fire safety prevention products we have talked about this month!
What are your top Fire Prevention safety tips?
The Home Depot partnered with bloggers such as me to help promote Fire Safety Month. As part of this promotion, I received compensation for my time. They did not tell me what to purchase or what to say about the products used. The Home Depot believes that consumers and bloggers are free to form their own opinions and share them in their own words. The Home Depot’s policies align with WOMMA Ethics Code, FTC guidelines and social media engagement recommendations. The giveaway winner will be chosen at random and prize fulfillment will be handled by a third party.

ReplyDeleteIve been in a fire before and all I can say is its Choas. YOu worry about everything and everyone. 1 thing I've realized is that I keep my purse some place close along with extra keys to the house and car those are 2 things that caused me horrible headaches when I lost them and having to replace everything is a nightmare but knowing we all got out safely was a blessing
