Pier House 60 - Clearwater Beach Marina Hotel

4:30 PM

We received complimentary accommodations for the purpose of review, but all words and opinions are my own.

Over 14 years ago I took my honeymoon on Clearwater Beach (yes, I'm that old). We returned again when my oldest was not quite a year old, and I have not been back since. Even though I am now divorced, the area still holds fond memories for me, as I also spent a great Spring Break there with a close friend in 11th grade, and went there as a child when we lived near the area, because my granddad lived across the street from the beach. So, I was excited to get the chance to return with the boys after our trip to nearby St. Pete Beach, and stay a few nights at the Pier House 60 Marina Hotel.

{Location}

The view from the window of the hotel lobby shows just how close the beach really is.

The Pier 60 Marina Hotel is located just across the street from the beach, and right next to Pier 60, where the nightly Sunsets at Pier 60 festival takes place. The hotel sits directly on the banks of the marina, next to where boats like Calypso Queen, Little Toot and Captain Memo's Pirate Ship dock. It is a great location for people watching, and extremely convenient to anything you might want to do while visiting the area. All along the walk right outside the hotel's doors, you can book everything from pirate cruises, dinners cruises, dolphin siting excursions and even parasailing sessions. A wide variety of restaurants, soouveniour shops and most importantly, ice cream shops are withing a few steps of the front door too!

Booths dot the marina, where families can book anything from pirate cruises to dolphin excursions.

 Clearwater remains at the top of the best beaches in the Florida each year.

Our first stop once checking in? A trip to get some ice cream of course!

{Rooms}

Sometimes it's nice to have a two bedroom villa and spread out so everyone has their own space, but sometimes it is equally as nice to not worry about who is where, or hear fighting over multiple TV's and beds. The guest rooms at Pier House 60 are just the right amount of space. With two queen beds, plenty of space to move around and a great big balcony that was perfect for relaxing and watching the boats around the marina, we had the room we needed to be comfortable.

The included mini-fridge and microwave came in handy for cutting down on food costs! The beds were a bit hard for my taste, but the down pillows were heaven, and it was so easy to drift off to sleep after playing hard in the sun all day. The free wi-fi was speedy, and took only a second to connect to, and I really appreciated the makeup remover pad that was in the bathroom, it definitely came in handy. Oh, and check out our amazing view of the marina!

{Amenities}

In addition to the free wi-fi, Pier House 60 had a lot of great amenities that we took full advantage of. My personal favorite was the free breakfast served every morning from 7-10 am. The boys loved it too, and I am pretty sure they came close to eating them out of house and home. There were hot offerings like eggs and sausage, as well as pastries, cereal, yogurt and more!

The heated pool alongside the marina not only had a great view, but it was shaded most of the day from the hot sun and the older boys fished off the deck while we went for a swim.

There is a great fitness center will new equipment and multiple TV screens, as well as a business center with a fax machine and printer.

  4. That looks so nice! I'd love to take our family there someday. We have a harder time finding places to stay with 3 kids and just don't fit in one large room easily. I'll have to see if we could find a suite. Thanks! :)
