To The Next 30 Years!
10:00 PMThis post is brought to you in cooperation with Chrysler, all words, thoughts and opinions are my own.
Did you know that the first mini-van was introduced in 1983 by Chrysler and boy am I glad it was. Since our family extended to include a total of 6 people, we have been cruising around in a minivan and I can't imagine traveling with this many kids any other way. Since 1983, Chrysler has had 78 minivan firsts, including being the first to introduce Stow 'n Go seating and the Blu-ray rear seat entertainment system. Not only that, but Dodge Grand Caravan and Chrysler Town and Country sales accounted for nearly half of all minivan sales in the United States in 2012! Chrysler has consistently been a leader in the minivan segment for the last 30 years!
To help celebrate the 30th anniversary of both the Dodge Grand Caravan and the Chrysler Town and Country, Chrysler is rolling out limited edition 30th anniversary models of each! So what does the next 30 years hold in store for Chrysler and the minivan industry in general?
Chrysler reached out to me to have the boys create a picture that would represent what they thought the world and specifically minivans would be like in the future. Boy did they have fun with that one. Jordan drew the picture with input from his brothers and Joshua did the narration for it. Chrysler took the picture and audio, sent it to a production company and created this ad that helps to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the minivan, as well as the amazing future that is to come! Check it out, I am really proud of the boys' work on it and so happy with how it turned out.
You can check out more about this campaign, the limited edition Dodge Grand Caravan and Chrysler Town and Country as well as upcoming sales and promotions on the Chrysler blog, Facebook and Twitter pages.
What do you think the world and mini vans will be like in the future?

For some reason, I would have thought the mini van had been around longer. 1983 was the year I was born. That's so fun that they are coming out with limited edition models to celebrate 30 years! I love my minivan.
ReplyDeleteOooo, it's gonna be like the Jetsons. Fun!
ReplyDeleteNot sure about the world, but I'm pretty sure some mini vans are going to be completely decked out in the future! Some of the newest ones now have more gadgets and tech than my living room!
ReplyDeleteI didn't realize Chrysler was the first to put out a mini-van! I do like their Stow n Go feature though!
ReplyDeleteThis is so funny because I was just telling my husband yesterday that "Shouldn't cars be able to fly now?" LOL
ReplyDeleteProbably flying by then...lol
ReplyDeleteI don't know why but I am shocked at that number, it seems like it would be younger. Maybe I am showing my age by saying that LOL but I don't remember seeing an influx of them until the 90's.
ReplyDeleteHow exciting for your boys to have that done to their artwork.
ReplyDeleteLol. I was watching back to the future the other day and thinking hey why don't we have flying cars by now.
ReplyDeleteAlthough I have never considered myself the mini van type, after downgrading to a smaller SUV last year, I often find myself missing my Caravan. It was a great ride!
ReplyDeleteI also thought the mini van was around a little longer than this. I don't see myself getting out of the SUV category anytime soon though.
ReplyDeleteWow.... only 30 years? I've never owned a mini van myself, but you never know...
ReplyDeleteI only have soon-to-be-2 kids & even *I* want a minivan! They are awesome vehicles.
ReplyDeleteUm, yeah ... can NOT imagine getting around without my mini-van. with my 3 kids and carseats it is a must for our family!
ReplyDeleteI didn't know this! I have a car, but a mini-van sounds tempting at times.
ReplyDeleteI totally want a mini van. I do not think I would have ever said that. lol
ReplyDeleteI think mini-vans have definitely gotten better over time. The options available in them are amazing!
ReplyDeleteI used to be a minivan mom and switched over to an SUV. Some days I miss it, and others I don't.
ReplyDeleteThat is totally awesome! They did such a great job I love the video! My daughter wishes we had a mini van!
