I bought my house almost five years ago, and if you can believe it, I don't even know my neighbors' names. In fact, I can count on one hand the number of times I have even spoken to anyone on our street. See, we live in a really rural area and it isn't like someone is just sitting 10 feet from my window. That said, getting to know my neighbors is something I have been wanting to do for a while now, but how? With a fun-filled block party of course! Problem is, I know nothing about planning a block party. Luckily, the Nestle Solutions Center offers plenty of help in that department.

  6. We don't have much of a community, which I feel is standard for a transient city like Las Vegas, but we do have frequent family ice cream parties that are always a lot of fun!

  7. Is it sad that I've never been to a block party before? I live in a very rural area and don't have many neighbors, but I could use these ideas for a party at our community center. Thanks!

  11. I've never been to a block party before. Our neighbors arranged one in an old neighborhood we used to live in, but we had prior commitments that day. I'd love to throw a block party where we live now and ice cream would be a great way to attract the neighbors!

  14. The first year we lived in my last house we did a block party, but then that was it. Of course, if they'd served ice cream, maybe we all would have fought for a repeat!
