How Do You Beat the Heat in #MesaAZ?

4:46 PM

On our recent trip to Mesa, AZ., we were taken with its beauty and the many many things to do, but the heat could really get to you. So, in the hot afternoon, we took a trip to Sunsplash Waterpark  to help beat the heat, and boy did it work. Even though temperatures were over 100 degrees during our visit, with the help of the awesomely fun water slides and a whole lot of sunscreen, we didn't get burnt and didn't feel hot all day!

{Did I Mention It's Super Fun?}

I love water slides! I mean, really really love them. Nothing makes me feel like a kid again quite like a great big twirling water slide and Sunsplash Waterpark has plenty of those. You know the ride is good when you just can't help but squeal with laughter. Better yet? Many of the rides accommodated 4 person rafts, so that those who were a little less sure of the slides could ride with me and feel safe.

Sunsplash Waterpark features a wide range of water slides of various daring levels. There are the Sunsplash Harbor Slides, which we probably spent the most time on. They were a walk on wait in most cases, because there were four different slides to choose from. The scariest and most thrilling slide was the Stormrider. It only took a four person raft and went down a steep dip before pushing you into a bowl and down one last shute into the pool at the bottom.

The boy's also loved the Thunder Bay Wavepool although I was scared to death one of them would be swept out and under. Never fear though, because there are always qualified lifeguards lining the pool keeping a close eye.

The Shipwreck Rock Slides are perfect for smaller children like Jase and the Activity Pool has fun obstacles across the water and basketball in the pool. The Lazy River was a relaxing way to cool off after hitting some of the slides too.

Really, there is so much to do at Sunsplash Waterpark and if you wanted, you could combine it with Golfland right next door for a full day of outdoor fun. Tickets for Sunsplash start at only $28.99 for adults and $19.99 for children, and are a great bargain for the best way to beat the heat when visiting Mesa, AZ.

How do you beat the summer heat in your town?

  13. I used to love water parks as a kid, they seemed to kind of disappear a bit for a while there but I love seeing them make a big comeback.
