My 4 Favorite Things To Do in Florida

This post brought to you by VISIT FLORIDA. All opinions are 100% mine.

Florida is a gorgeous place to live. Yes, it can be sweltering hot most of the year and the humidity can nearly strangle you, but I can't imagine any other state providing the same extensive list of activities and sights that Florida has to offer. There is literally something for everyone here. There are coastal beaches, swamps rich with mystery and thick forests full of opportunities for outdoor adventures. I thought I would share a few of my favorite things to do in Florida.

1. Visit Disney World

I have been a Disney World fanatic for as long as I can remember. I have been taking the boys there for a week at least once a year since my oldest was three. No other place feels as magical and as much like "going home" as Disney does for me.

2. Swim in Crystal Clear Waters

Florida has some of the most beautiful beaches in the world. The beaches in Destin are my favorite and are filled with crystal clear water and sugar white sands. Visiting these beaches is like stepping onto an exotic island that happens to be in your own backyard.

3. Hike Historical Landmarks

Not only is Florida beautiful, but it is full of history too. State parks like Torreya State Park provide not only an opportunity for outdoor fun like hiking and biking, but they also allow you to learn of the state's history. On our  recent trip, we were able to see old Civil War confederate bunkers while hiking.

4. Enjoy Opportunities for Adventure

Sitting on a fully grown gator, soaring over 50 feet in the air while zip lining over gorgeous land and Snuba diving in the gulf, these are adventures that I have had the chance to experience right here in Florida. The opportunities for adventure both on land and in the water are endless here.
