Make Brushing Teeth Painless and Fun with #Firefly4Kids

Some of my boys will do almost anything to avoid brushing their teeth, including actually going into the bathroom and wetting their toothbrush to say they did it. Um, like the rancid breath coming from their mouth isn't a dead giveaway that they clearly didn't brush their teeth. This is an ironic situation, since they would actually beg me to let them brush their teeth more often when they were younger. We were given the opportunity to try out Firefly toothbrushes and Fluoride Foam Toothpaste and I figured it was worth a try if it could make them actually want to brush their teeth again.

{What Are Firefly Products?}

Firefly has a line of products for kids, that actually makes the task of brushing their teeth more fun. Their light-up timer toothbrushes light up for one minute and let your children know exactly how long to brush. They are supposed to brush for 1 minute on top and 1 minute on bottom, so they will press the button a total of two times. The Firefly Fluoride Foam Toothpaste presents boring old toothpaste in a fun new way!

{New Firefly Ready Go Brushes}

 * The new FireFly Ready Go Brush features the colors and mimics the cycle of a traditional traffic light to let kids know how long they need to brush each row of teeth to be effective against cavities

* Times kids to make sure they brush the dentist-recommended 60 seconds per row of teeth o For the first 30 seconds, the light flashes green for “go.” Then, the light changes to yellow to signal that brushing is halfway over. When the red light comes on, the user can stop brushing. The cycle is then repeated for the second row of teeth

* When finished, simply hold the toothbrush upright and press
onto the surface where you wish to store it. The suction cup at the bottom of the toothbrush will hold it firmly upright like a traffic light, keeping the bristles clean, dry and out of contact with moisture and germs on the sink.

* Hurried, insufficient brushing is one of the major causes of early childhood cavities; the FireFly Ready Go Toothbrush encourages compliance in young children and helps develop good oral care habits for a lifetime
* Choice of four top entertainment characters – Barbie, Spider Man, Angry Birds, or FireFly.

{Our Take}

The boys all loved the Firefly Ready Go toothbrushes. My youngest is a huge fan of Angry Birds, so he snatched that one up right away. The toothbrushes were so irresistible that my oldest claimed the pink Barbie toothbrush because it was the only one left, but don't let him know I told you that.

The Firefly Foam Fluoride Toothpaste took a little more coaxing to get them to try. They were a little hesitant to want to spray the toothpaste directly into their mouths instead of putting it on their toothbrushes. Once they gave it a try though, they all liked it and the Bubblegum flavor went over well. Overall, the Firefly products added fun to the boy's teeth brushing routine and they are excited about it again. How long that will last, I don't know, but I am happy with it for now.
