Freezer to Crockpot Cooking #Paleo and Sugar Detox Friendly!

7:36 PM

The new year is quickly approaching and that means New Years resolutions.Well, normally it would mean that. Since I have never managed to meet one of my resolutions though, I thought I would start before the new year and call it nothing but what it is, a change in the way I eat. My friend Rhea has lost nearly 100 pounds over the last year and she started with the 21 day Sugar Detox and switched to a Paleo diet. I have decided to do the same, so when I made my monthly freezer to crockpot meals, I made sure they were all Paleo and Sugar Detox friendly. No what this means don't you? You can all join me!

{What is the 21 Day Sugar Detox?}

Basically, it is exactly what it sounds like, a way to completely detox your body from sugar. It is also a great way to jump start a Paleo diet and weight loss, since it cuts out carbs and other items you can't have when going Paleo. The basics? You delete sugar, carbs such as bread, rice, pasta, as well as starchy veggies like potatoes or corn and fruit from your diet. You can eat any type of meat, most veggies, eggs, whole milk and all the real butter you want! The surro-baby made me crave sweets and I was hooked on caffeine free Diet Coke, so this is just what I need to break those bad habits.

{Paleo Basics}

In short, Paleo eating is like going back in time and eating like a caveman. I am still learning, so the better thing for you to do would be to check out these Paleo basics

{The Meals}

I will be adding the links to the recipes or recipe posts that I put up here on my site for each of these meals once I have made them and approved of them. Wouldn't want to recommend icky food now would I? Most of the recipes were adapted from ones that I found online to remove or substitute ingredients that are not Paleo or sugar detox friendly, but the idea is to get food that is as scrumptious as possible so my whole family can enjoy it. I make me non-Paleo eating family a side of potatoes, rice or noodles along with steaming our daily veggies to make the meals complete.
I made two of each of these meals except the ribs. That is one meal for each day of the 21 Day Sugar Detox. A great way to be prepared and stay on track, so we are not tempted to eat out and break the detox plan.

Any questions? Feel free to leave them below and I will do my best to answer them. Want to do freezer to crockpot cooking but you don't want to do Paleo? Check out my last freezer cooking post for some great ideas.

  10. I'm preparing for my candida diet and I'm creating crock pot meals as well so I'm not slaving over the stove daily.

  11. I think Paleo sounds interesting. Is fruit reintroduced after the 21 days?

  12. Yes Sheri, Paleo has fruit included, it is just the sugar detox that limits it. Some people who eat Paleo exclude dairy and others known as Lacto-Paleo allow it. I will be allowing organic cheese from grass fed cows for meals and whole raw milk as well, especially as I prepare for another surrogacy.

  16. I actually just put up a post the other day with 20 Paleo breakfast ideas. :)

    Some of them would not be detox friendly, but others are, just look at the ingredients and you'll be good to go. http://www.lifewith4boys.com/2013/01/20-paleo-breakfast-ideas.html
