I love fall and winter. It my absolute favorite time of the year. When the weather gets cooler, I get happier! I also love the decor it allows me to bring out. The reds, greens, silvers and golds are so beautiful, warm and inviting. As always, when I look for DIY home decor, I look for things that can carry through several seasons. These fall mason jar candles work for fall, but will also carry into winter and are perfect for Christmastime. They are also super easy and cheap to make. The jars were probably about $1 each, the candles were $4 for the whole pack, the cranberries were $2.50 and the leaves were free. That is $10.50 for all four jars and they can be re-purposed when you are done.

Materials:


4 Mason jars any size
4 Floating candles. I got these gold ones from Michael's.
1 Bag of cranberries. You won't use them all.
4 leaf sprigs from any bush outside.


Step 1: Place a leaf sprig in the very bottom of the jar. Curl it around so that most of the leaf faces are pointing out and make sure it is in there well or it will float to the top when the water is put in.

Step 2: Place some water into the jar. You want to leave enough space at the top so it won't overflow when the cranberries and candle are added.


Step 3: Place a layer of cranberries into the jar. These will float and form a base for the candle.


Step 4: Place the candle on top of the cranberries. Do not put it down under the cranberries, because we don't want anything to catch fire.


See, I told you it was easy! You can group these together like shown in the picture, but I actually plan to use them in my windowsills in the front room and kitchen. You can also use different size jars to create a more dramatic look when grouping on a shelf or centerpiece.
