Simple DIY Craft for Fall Decor

6:51 PM

Fall has arrived and suddenly, the lemons and pears and seashells that I have decorating my home seem roughly out of place. What's a girl to do? Take a trip to Michael's of course. I always end up with way more than I actually need there, but this time I came with a plan. I had a list of craft supplies I needed for DIY fall decor that I want to make and will be sharing here. This first one, I found in a photo somewhere online, but it was done for a different season. I took the idea and ran with it to come up with a simple craft for fall that can add some pretty decor to a shelf or table for less.

Materials:

Large round charger or platter
Fake flowers in your choice of fall colors
4-5 wine, champagne, etc. glasses. Different shapes and sizes work better

Step 1:

If your flowers come together in a bunch like mine did, use a pair of snips to cut them at the base. Be sure to leave a tiny stub of the stem or the flowers could fall apart.

Step 2:

Place the flowers in the glasses while they are turned upside down and arrange them on the platter or charger as desired.

Total cost:

Flowers - $2
4 Glasses at a thrift shop - $.98
Plastic charger on sale - $1

= $3.98

That's it! So simple and it looks really beautiful. We are using it on our entertainment center in the living room, but it could easily make a cute centerpiece too. Add some nuts, acorns or cranberries for an extra flair if you like.

Are you transitioning your decor for fall?
