Lovable Labels BlogHer’ 11 Getaway Contest - My Greatest Accomplishment

10:30 PM

Yes, if you ask any mother what their greatest accomplishment is, she will undoubtedly say giving birth to and raising her children. Aside from that though, mothers are capable of accomplishing so much more. From landing top of the ladder corporate jobs to starting foundations to help others, mothers all around the world are showing their power and making things happen. My greatest accomplishment is currently a work in progress. I am right in the middle of making it happen and I could not be more thrilled.

What could this magical and mystical accomplishment be you ask? Well it isn't as glamorous as all that, but it will help make two people in this world incredibly happy. My greatest accomplishment to date is taking the leap to walk into the beautiful and sometimes scary world of being a gestational surrogate!

My whole life, I have known that I wanted to "give back," to find a way to make the lives of others better, I have received my fair share of help in the past, as a single mother and now that I am able to do so, it is my greatest pleasure to be in the position to make other's dreams come true.

Late last year, I matched with an amazing couple who would like the opportunity to create a family of their own and need a surrogate to do so. After screening and a lengthy procedure, we are on the cusp of making their dream a reality. In a few month's time, we will go to transfer and with luck and a little bit of magic, I will be on my way to making my greatest accomplishment complete.

I may not ever make a million dollars or climb the highest mountain in the world, but I will end my life knowing that I was able to enrich the lives of at least a few other people along the way and that is one of the greatest joys in life!

Thank-you to Loveable Labels for the opportunity to create this post and participate in this amazing contest. Feel free to share your own greatest accomplishment, I know I would love to hear them.
