Convertible Designs - T-Jack Toy Jacket Review

2:36 PM

My four year old has a big personality. He knows what he likes and what he doesn't. The problem, is finding things that he likes and will be willing to put on his body when it is cold. If he does not like his jacket, no amount of coaxing is going to get it on him, no matter how cold it is outside. Luckily, the T-Jack from Convertible Designs solves that problem, with an innovative new toy jacket design.

Not only is the T-Jack and amazingly well made design, but it also serves as a plush toy and a bag! It doesn't get any more special than that when you are talking about clothes for toddlers.

{About Convertible Designs}
"Looking for a cool gift for kids - something no one else has discovered yet? T-Jack is a one of a kind jacket designed for kids, which converts to a stuffed animal friend; an imaginary character with real characteristics of a frog, a ladybug, a turtle, or a beetle. Finally, something that both kids and adults would like. A coat, which your children can play with, can cuddle with, and take it out for a walk comfortably nested on their back. No more struggles with getting dressed. Simply replace “put on your jacket” with “let’s take your friend for a walk.” T-Jack is a perfect companion for travel. Simply convert the coat into a pillow toy for your kid to snuggle with during the long car or plane rides."

{My Take}

I received the T-Jack Frog jacket for my son as well as a Fearless Frog Toddler T-shirt. The first thing I noticed about the jacket when it arrived is how much nicer it was than I had expected. I had really not expected it to be so thick, since it has to collapse to become a stuffed frog, but it really is a heavy jacket. It is more than enough for our Florida winter weather and it would be perfect for colder climates as well. The sleeves were a bit long, but I loved that, because they can easily be rolled up at the end and we will get extra use out of it, since the jackets don't run small like some other brands do.

The Fearless Frog T-shirt from Convertible Designs was super soft and still remains one of my son's favorite shirts. He calls it his "froggy shirt" and if I don't hide it sometimes when it comes out of the wash, he will wear it nonstop. You can see the Convertible Designs toddler and baby shirts featured in my Holiday Gift Guide as well.
To show how the jacket can easily be zipped into a fun plush animal, I created a short video. I forgot to show how you can wear it as a bag, but there is a strap that comes out and allow you to wear it and take it on the go.

The T-Jack toy jackets are recommended for children who are ages 2-5 and are recommended for temperatures between 14 and 50 degrees. There are four designs that are currently available. The frog that we received is a light blue jacket with navy and green accents. The eyes of the animal are absolutely wonderful and really bring it to life, as does the iridescent green material used for its skin. There are also a lady bug, beetle and turtle designs available in a variety of colors as well. The jackets are machine washable and water resistant, with detachable hoods.

In addition to the T-Jack toy jackets, Convertible Designs offers an ever expanding inventory of other cute items too. From decorative pillow shams with their famous Fearless Frog, Lovely Ladybug, Busy Beetle and Tough Turtle characters, to decorative ladybug purses and plush animals, these would all make great gifts for any little one on your list this holiday season.

  1. This is awesome! Mine refuses to wear clothes too. He's had has life jacket, swim shorts and winter boots on for two days now. No shirt...no matter how cold it is. Won't wear a jacket outside. Lucky if I can get a shirt on him. These T-Jack jackets are way cool. I'll have to check into this!
