Zuvo Water Purator Review and Giveaway

3:55 PM

I hate water. It is not a secret to anyone who really knows me. I have tried to like it, but it just isn't something I routinely enjoy. However, I really hate water when it is metallic tasting or worse yet, tastes like sewer water. Recently, I was given the opportunity to review the Zuvo Water Purator and it is fabulous. Not only does it improve the quality of the water enough to where I can actually drink it, but it is so easy to install and costs less than most other systems over time.

{About Zuvo}
"Zuvo™ Water LLC is a global innovator of chemical-free water products. Zuvo’s product portfolio is based on a patented technology platform that reproduces the photo-oxidation process that naturally occurs in the environment.
Zuvo practices sustainable design to keep products in use longer, thereby reducing their impact on the environment and keeping them out of an already crowded waste stream. Their goal is to innovate with the environment in mind, using materials and methods that minimize the use of energy, optimize recycling, and reduce the cost of transportation. Zuvo is on a quest to reduce the impact of plastic water bottles on the planet and hopes to provide healthy water for the world by donating all profits on the sale of our stainless steel water bottles to the Hippo Water Roller Project."
{How Does It Work?}

"Step 1: Ozonation

In nature, ozone is generated by lightning and cleans the air where rainwater forms. The Zuvo Water Purator mixes ozone with incoming tap water to treat taste and odor contaminants and improve taste. Like chlorine, ozone is a powerful oxidizer. Unlike chlorine, ozone leaves no chemical residue.

Step 2: Ultraviolet Light

The ozone saturated water is flooded with high-intensity UV light - the same as the solar energy that cleans water in the upper atmosphere.

Step 3: Photo-oxidation

The Zuvo Water Purator combines UV and ozone in a patented process known as photo-oxidation which releases powerful oxidizers to further treat the water.

Step 4: filtration with lead removal

Pure spring water is created by passing through fine particles in the earth. Zuvo uses the same principle by passing water through a Class 1 Particulate Reduction Filter, reducing chlorine taste and odor, lead, and tiny particulates.

Step 5: post-filtration UV

The filtered water is again exposed to high-intensity UV light as it leaves the Zuvo Water Purator, ensuring that you get clean, healthy, great tasting water...just the way nature intended!"

{My Take}

I found the Zuvo purification system to be really easy to install. The offer both above the counter and below the counter systems depending on your needs. The below the counter system must be used with their specific faucet, but both are reasonably priced when you consider that the filters only have to be replaced every 500 gallons or six months, compared to other systems that make you replace filters once a month or more.

We did have a slight problem with the water pressure in our kitchen, because it was not strong enough to activate the UV light that works with the purator system. However, we just have low water pressure and this is not the norm for most households. We did find that the system works well in the bathrooms though and have someone coming to look at our water pressure so that it will be able to be used in the kitchen soon!

I had no problems with the system and it did make the water taste much better. That is saying a lot from someone who normally does not like the taste of any water. I would recommend the under the counter system if you already have a crowded counter or if you have a small kitchen though, as the Zuvo system does take up some counter space. If you are looking for a goof purification system that requires little work to installe and does not require frequent filter replacements like other brands, then the Zuvo Water Purator would be a great choice.

{Buy It}

You can purchase the Zuvo Water Purator directly on their website, from Amazon.com or from a variety of other online retailers.

*I received a Zuvo Water Purator system for the purpose of review, but was not compensated in any other way. The thoughts, words and opinion expressed here are entirely my own and were not influenced by anyone else.

  88. interesting that the Zuvo Purator uses a “broad spectrum” UV lamp. In addition to visible light, the Zuvo Purator UV lamp emits shortwave UV energy across a band of wavelengths from 160 nanometers to 260 nanometers (hence the term “broad spectrum”). yyeres(at)gmail(dot)com
