Scary Snake Pizza Recipe!
2:49 PMI decided to give the scary Halloween recipes another go and created a scary snake pizza. This was a little harder to make than the macaroni and cheese monsters, but it was really yummy. If you have a smaller family, you may do well to use only one package of crescent rolls and just double it over instead of using two for a top and bottom. That would make it more sturdy. So, this recipe completes Day 11 of the Microwave to Martha Stewart Challenge.
Ingredients:
2 packages of refrigerated crescent rolls
1 jar of pizza sauce (or you can make your own)
1 bag of shredded 2 % mozzarella cheese
1 package of pepperoni
2 olives
Instructions:
1. Open both packages of crescent rolls and placed them on a floured counter top. Roll them out and push together the seams of each roll so that they two solid long rectangles as shown below. Each package of rolls will make one long rectangle.
2. Place one rectangle on a greased baking sheet and top with pizza sauce, cheese and pepperoni. Leave some blank dough around the edges and at the ends as well.
3. Place the other long rectangle of crescent roll dough on top of the pizza toppings. Fold the edges and ends over and pinch to close the seems. Curve to make the shape of a snake and place in a 375 degree oven for 15-20 minutes. If your snake is skinnier, you can curve him more, but we had a big one for our family of 6. You can also paint your snake with food coloring at this time, but we were out.
4. Remove your pizza snake from the oven, place two olives for the eyes and cut a piece of pepperoni in the shape of a tongue.
