Macaroni and Cheese Monsters Halloween Recipe
12:50 PMWith Halloween coming up in just a few days, I wanted to give the kids some freaky food to get them in the right mood for the holiday! These macaroni monsters are not only cute, but they combine one of kids favorite foods with one of their least favorite in a mix that works to get my boys to eat their veggies or at least stomach them. This recipe will also be used for the Microwave to Martha Stewart challenge as Day 9.
Ingredients:
Prepared mac and cheese of your choice. (Homemade or store bought)
Sauteed spinach. (I used frozen whole leaf spinach and sauteed with a little butter.)
Olives
Instructions:
1. Prepare the mac and cheese as you normally would and then place in a muffin pan that has been coated with cooking spray. I topped mine with bread crumbs, but you don't have to. Place the pan into a 350 degree oven for about 10 minutes.
2. Saute the spinach and then place a bed of it on a plate.
3. Place a mac and cheese cup on top of the spinach bed and then place two olive eyes on top to create the monster. Mine didn't quite come out in cups, because I didn't use enough cooking spray, so be sure to coat the muffin pan well.
