We love to eat out, but with such a big family, it does not happen as often as we wish it would. The truth is, that eating out is expensive and when we go out as a family even to a budget restaurant, our bill is easily over $60! We recently were given the opportunity to try out the Chili's $20 dinner for 2 promotion and had a wonderful experience. This is a heck of a deal and it makes eating out a lot more affordable.

{Our Experience}

As soon as we stepped into our local Tallahassee Chili's restaurant, it was a fun and entertaining atmosphere. The hostess and our waitress were both full of smiles and very helpful explaining the menu and such, since it was our first time ever being to a Chili's restaurant.

There were no large tables for 6 open, so they asked if it would be okay to seat us at a booth. I was a little skeptical, but surprisingly, two adults and four children fit in just fine. That gives you an idea of how roomy and spacious their seating is. I appreciated this as with four boys at dinner, it is always good to have a little extra room and not be seated two inches from another table.

Two of the boys had chicken quesadilla kid's meals with fries, one had grilled cheese with fries and my youngest at the kid's pizza. All of the boys licked their plates clean and loved the food. It is traditional kid fare, but it was made well and tasty.

Matt and I had the $20 dinner for 2 special and chose to split the half order of Texas Cheese Fries. He chose the Classic Bacon Burger with fries for his meal and I had the Chicken Crispers with french fries and corn on the cob. The best part of my meal aside from the cheese fries which were pure heaven, was the corn on the cob. The corn was so sweet and then they added some kind of seasoning that really pushed it over the top. The french fries were good and seasoned well, but I didn't care too much for the chicken. It was a little more heavily breaded than I like and not too crispy, but it was still pretty good.

Matt enjoyed his burger and pronounced it the best burger he has had in quite some time and of course he noshed down his fries. We opted out of dessert because we were so full from dinner. The really do give you enough to fill you up!

The best part of our experience was definitely the bill! Our bill came to about $46 and some change and that is with an appetizer included and each of the boys having their own meal! This is a super low total for us. Heck, even a fast food restaurant will run us nearly $30.

I would highly recommend the Chili's $20 dinner for 2 promotion to anyone. It is a great way to experience a nice meal at a sit down restaurant without the heart failure that generally comes from receiving the bill.
