The Little Things in Life
10:31 AMBy last night, I was ready to pull my hair out. Summer break had finally taken its toll on me and my boys were driving me to the insane asylum. One more fight, argument, he touched me, he took my car, he is looking at me, well just about one more anything would have sent me over the edge! Then, as I caught up on work, I noticed my two oldest sneaking stuff from the craft drawers to their room. For the sake of a moments peace, I let them be.Well, I let them be once I realized they weren't taking paint, glitter, glue or anything else that could be potentially dangerous in the hands of children alone.
About an hour later I got quite a surprise. You know those simple handmade gifts that your kids give you that seem like the most elaborate masterpieces on Earth? Yeah, it was one of those. They made the bag with paper and tape, made the flowers and pulled it all together with crayon shavings in the bottom of the bag for color I assume.
In moments like these I remember why there is nothing in the world I would rather be than a mom. I remember why I made the difficult choice to try and find work from home even though early on it meant that I had to work more hours and late at night when the kids were asleep. All the fights disappear and I realize that these little things in life are what define it and make it worth living. Sounds corny I know.

Ha! HOW CUTE! Funny how they do things that make you crazy and then right after that, they do something like this! CUTE POST!
ReplyDeleteThat is so cute! For me it seems that when I am having one of "those" moments that is when they come up and give me a big hug and kiss! That always makes me smile even if I had huts wanted to scream two seconds ago!
ReplyDeleteThat is adorable. It almost makes the fighting worth it.. haha!! Have a good weekend!
ReplyDeleteThat's awesome! I think it's a self defense mechanism that makes kids do cute stuff right when we're ready to pull our hair out. It's so we stop and go, "Awwwwwwwww. They're so precious." And then we forget why we were mad LOL.
ReplyDeleteOh my did this post make me chuckle as I am at the point where I am ready to pull my hair out with my 2 boys. Thank you for reminding me about the highs associated with the lows.
ReplyDeleteI think that is the sweetest thing I have heard!
