Namaste Foods Review and Giveaway

If you have a food allergy and have not been introduced to Namaste Foods, then you are truly missing out. While no one in our household has a food allergy, we have been striving to eat healthier in recent months because of my weight loss journey, and the Namaste line of products is perfect for that as well.

{My Take}

Designed for those with gluten, wheat, corn, dairy and other allergies, Namaste Foods has been creating convenience mixes and packaged foods for these types of consumers since the year 2000. They have a host of yummy products that range from baking mixes to prepackaged meal kits. In addition, a great deal of their products are also sugar free, making them a healthy option for those with diabetes. The price of Namaste products is quite low compared to other brands that create the same types of products. They also offer multi-packs of products for added value as well!

I was able to choose two products to try from Namaste Foods.The first product I decided to try was the Taco Pasta Meal that retails for $4.59 on their site and serves four. There was a recipe card included with the package and I created a super yummy taco chili meal by adding ground turkey, a can of beans and a can of tomato sauce. Just the noodles and seasoning mix prepared by itself would have made a fine vegetarian meal though. It was not too spicy like some other Mexican mixes and the seasoning blended well with no gritty aftertaste. My kids gobbled it up without a second thought and would have gladly eaten more if there had been any left.

Next, we tried the Pizza Crust Mix. My boys were really looking forward to this one. They got to help make it and then we slathered it up with tomato sauce and lots of 2% reduced fat cheese. It was really good and they did not notice anything different from the crust we usually use. It was a lot healthier and lower in fat as well. To give you an idea, a slice of refrigerated pizza dough from a well known major brand has 160 calories and 2 grams of fat, while the Namaste pizza crust has only 100 calories and 0 grams of fat per slice. Not only are their products safe for those with allergies, but they are great for those looking to lower their caloric and fat intake, which is right up my alley!
