Bacon Wrapped Meatloaf - I mainly just got the idea for this from stumbling. I plan on using my own recipe for the meatloaf and then adding turkey bacon for a lower calorie meal. The rest of the family will have mashed potatoes with this, but I will have a few different vegetables with mine.
Lemon Garlic Chicken With Alfredo Noodles - The lemon garlic chicken breasts are pre-seasoned from the store, but the simple Alfredo sauce is one I found while stumbling. The only change I will make is whole grain pasta.
Mini Lasagnas - These were adorable and looked so easy, so I have to give them a shot. Plus, there are many ways to make them lower in fat and calories, but still tasting great!
Drunken Irish Stew - This Irish girl couldn't pass up a recipe like this. Made with plenty of veggies, this should be a tasty dish.
Rigatoni Chorizo and Chicken Al Forno - Okay, so there is nothing healthy about this meal, but it looks so so good I have to try it. Instead of heavy cream, I will be using a combo of low fat cottage cheese and non fat powdered milk to make a substitute.
Cheesecake Filled Strawberries - Seriously? How could you not make this? Maybe I will just have one or two lol.
Sour Cream Coffee Cake - This looks like it will be a yummy dessert that the boys will enjoy and I can make some substitutions to lower the calories and fat as well.
- Do not choose more than one recipe from each website that you Stumble Upon. The variety makes it much more fun.
- Choose only the "Food/Cooking" category from the Stumble toolbar to return websites that feature only food and cooking posts. This eliminates all other topics for the time being.
- Don't be afraid to branch out and try a recipe or type of food that is different than what you are used to.
- Change up the recipe to fit your own needs. This can include eliminating ingredients your family won't eat or adding substitutes to lower the fat and calories.
