Two days before Thanksgiving, we drove to a Christmas tree lot and picked out the perfect tree. We set it up that night, but did not get around to decorating it as it was time for the boys to go to bed. The next day, the boys were out of school, so I thought it would be the perfect time to drag their tree and the decorations out of the shed and get everything set up. This is how is all went down.
The boys have their own artificial tree that sits in the dining room. I started doing this a few years ago, when they wanted all the fun ornaments and I wanted a pretty organized tree. So now, they decorate their tree and I decorate mine, which sits in the living room. As a wild young girl once said, "It's the best of both worlds." We had a blast and now our house is all sparkled up for the Christmas season.

How fun! Gosh I never thought about a second tree - what a great idea! I normally let the girls decorate, and redo it the way I like it after they go to bed, LOL

Hey I know this one family that has a second story and a big window on the second story that faces the street. They have their Christmas Tree up all year long where you can see it from the street. Actually anyone going to the State Fair Grounds on the West road that leads there can see it. I think the man and wife are elderly and the man is in a wheelchair, so it is probably easier for them to leave it up all year.
I think it is awesome that you have two trees and the boys get their own to decorate! They did a great job - well done guys!

Yep, we love decorating the trees and I would definitely recommend a second tree for the kiddos. They love it!
